Meet the Buyers Tour

Meet produce buyers around the region and build new sales relationships with local grocers, produce distributors, restaurants and more at the Sacramento Meet the Buyers Tour! Get a head start on next season by establishing new relationships directly with buyers who care about sourcing locally and prepare for next season’s plantings based on local market needs.

This tour is designed for beginning and small-medium sized farmers interested in expanding sales to organic and non-organic wholesale buyers. Topics covered on the tour will include buyer requirements for food safety certifications, packing and volume standards, and more. Priority will be given to farmers who are based in the following counties:

  • Butte
  • Yuba
  • Sutter
  • Yolo
  • Sacramento
  • Solano

Tour bus departs from two locations:

Chico
Bus departs at 7 a.m. and returns at 5:30 p.m.
CSU Chico University Farm
311 Nicholas C Shouten Ln, Chico, CA 95928.

Woodland
Bus departs at 8:45 a.m. and returns at 4 p.m.
UCCE Capitol Corridor Office
70 Cottonwood Street Woodland, CA 95695.

Hop on a bus to tour Sacramento wholesale produce buyers to see their facilities and hear about their ordering and packing procedures.

Stops on the tour include General Produce, Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op, and Produce Express, with a lunchtime guest panel of speakers from Magpie Café and other farm-to-table restaurants (to be announced)
