Third Thursday is a monthly event continuing in 2025 to meet Sac Valley orchard advisors and other industry members in a casual setting and get timely updates on issues we’ve been seeing in the field.

Orchard management topics:
The first hour will feature lunch, a UCCE talk and Q&A on an orchard topic relevant to the time of year. In January, Dr. Domena Agyeman will discuss how to use UC cost studies for walnut and peach, and demonstrate how to utilize the excel versions of cost studies to customize the results for your own operation. We’ll be using the walnut cost study as an example, but these techniques can be applied to any commodity cost study.

After the talk, there will be a continued Q&A session about cost studies, or an opportunity to share observations, questions, and pictures of your orchards for UCCE advisors and the group to address
