We’re hiring!

UC is hiring a Staff Research Associate to support the UC Cooperative Extension Orchards research and extension programs in the southern Sacramento Valley. If you know any hard-working folks looking to work in agricultural research and extension, please pass along this opportunity.

The Staff Research Associate will conduct research and extension projects in orchard systems in order to increase the viability and productivity of the programs of the Yolo-Solano-Sacramento, Colusa and Sutter/Yuba Orchard Systems Advisors, working with both UCCE advisors Kat Jarvis-Shean and Franz Niederholzer.

This position will assist with the design and implementation of field experiments, prepare and collect samples, maintain field records, and coordinate sample analysis, as well as enter, verify and analyze data and draft reports relevant to the research. The position will be based in the Yolo County UC Cooperative Extension Office in Woodland, but assist with research and extension in all six counties.

This is a full-time temporary position (3-year minimum), with possibility of extension with additional funding.

This is a great job for someone interested in helping develop science-based solutions for real-world agriculture issues, and gaining experience in translating research into on-the-ground action.
